Inside Today’s Experience

November 25, 2007 by Gilbert Leave a Comment

  • Today went a lot smoother than last week…sure makes things easier.
  • We set another attendance record! Speaking of…November’s average attendance was 101 higher than our previous high month.
  • Found out afterwards that we did have 1 person who had raised their hand to make a profession of faith.
  • That now makes 23 during the series (I didn’t add the numbers right last week…somehow I got 9+7+6 to equal 21 instead of 22).
  • I certainly don’t want to discount 23 new believer’s, but we only have 1 week left to meet the goal of 50 we had for this series. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that that was the number God gave me. If we miss it, it certainly won’t be God’s fault. I’ll take full responsibility if we miss it for not properly motivating you to invite more people…however, I still believe we can make it…it’s just going to take an all out blitz this week.
  • Had a few family members and their friends in attendance today. Always good to see them and this was their first time with us since we moved, so it’s good to get their perspective on all the changes.
  • My 8 year-old niece was disappointed that there wasn’t food set-up in the back like at the old building. I had to take her to the cafe’ to show her that it was indeed still there, just in a different place.
  • We had some unique guests with us today. One couple, who I didn’t get to meet but heard were there, came because they’ve been listening online and wanted to come see it in person. Another couple who were there are originally from one of the churches that I’ve most modeled United after.
  • I really like the new song we did called “God is Great.” I couldn’t believe people weren’t clapping, so I went up front and got the first few rows going, which got everyone else going as well….whew!
  • I received a gift after the Experience that is a toy monkey dancing to the song “I like the way you move.” Just so happens that that is the song I danced to in the GodPod series. Hmmm…wonder what Molly was trying to tell me?
  • The recording for today’s message got messed up, so we are checking to see if we can take the audio off the video. If not, I’ll have to re-record tomorrow so we have it…hope not, something doesn’t quite come across the same when you can’t hear the crowd.
  • Have CAYA tonight…I really look forward to hanging out with the guys and gals just getting started in life.
  • First I need a nap…
