I can’t believe we were able to squeeze all of today’s stuff into such a short amount of time.
It was great seeing so many people committing to becoming a part of the church membership.
What’s amazing to keep in mind is that you we’re only seeing the new members who attend United…the sanctuary services had just as many people.
We had a pretty smooth day with getting set-up and ready for the Experience to begin. We ended up being short-staffed though in a lot of key areas but our team stepped up and did a great job plugging in the gaps.
I thought the energy was great today!
I especially liked the bands version of Switchfoot’s, This is Your Life” which they did as a special…thought it was a thought provoking intro into the message.
The response to this series has been great…many people are excited about small groups and today we had long lines waiting to get signed up for the launch on 2/10.
In total we had six groups completely fill up. This is in addition to a handful that were already filled prior to today’s sign-up period. Many more are almost full and I just found out tonight that another 6 or so individuals have stepped up and said they’d be willing to lead a group.
Right now it looks like we’ll have 25+ groups as of 2/10.
Speaking of groups, I spent the entire day with my group. After the Experience, Lisa and I went to the one couples house for lunch…Chicken Cordon Bleu, potatoes, corn, broccoli, homemade bread and an awesome chocolate dessert that words can’t even begin to describe. This was followed by some rigorous playing of the Wii, then Lisa and I going to the home of one of our other group members for dinner. Homemade lasagna and bread, followed by a big ole bowl of chocolate ice cream…this all following last night’s huge Japanese meal at the House of Kobe restaurant. Let’s just say…I’m full…and it will be hard to keep my girlish figure if I keep this up.
All in all a very good day…can’t wait to see what God has in store for all of us as we continue to seek after Him!
