Inside Today’s Experience

May 4, 2008 by Gilbert Leave a Comment

  • When I first started out as a professional magician, I did a lot of kids parties, especially at Christmas time.  One of the unwritten rules was “You can never follow Santa Claus.”  In other words once Santa comes out, the kids are done.
  • After last week’s message, I felt like I was trying to follow Santa Claus this week.
  • It didn’t matter what I did or said…it wasn’t going to top last week.
  • The morning started out well, but we had some technical difficulties getting the side screens to work.
  • Unfortunately that meant calling Andy who was on vacation.  :(
  • Luckily they were planning on attending anyway so he just came in a few minutes early and got things up and running.  :)
  • Brian is really coming into his own as a singer…I thought he did great on “Everything Glorious.”
  • Did you catch Alex’s (the drummer) garb…sweet!
  • With the kids doing their thing in the sanctuary thus pulling a lot of people over there, it was weird seeing a partially full house.
  • What’s amazing is that even with such a low attended day, it was still higher than where we were averaging just 6 months ago!
  • I’m not sure why but I was really nervous to juggle…glad I made it through that.
  • Afterwards I heard a couple people say that maybe attendance was down because people were still applying last week’s message…   ;)
  • I did talk to a couple who mentioned that started tithing and have already seen God do some amazing stuff…they said the first week they thought it was a coincidence…the second week…”God is doing something.”
  • I’m really please with this series overall…lot’s of life change!
  • Looking forward to the IMPACT series which starts next week…the series after that then is going to be unlike any we’ve ever had…can’t wait.
  • Time for my Sunday afternoon nap and then we’ll be off to some friends house for dinner and some games.
