Let’s talk About Sex

May 22, 2008 by Gilbert Leave a Comment

As I promised this week we’ll continue the Take It to the Limit series with a message about how to achieve margin in your sex life.  I just finished putting the final touches on the message and if it’s possible, this week will be even more real and transparent and raw than ever.

What I mean by that is I’m not going to hint at things and hope you get it.  I’ll share with you exactly what the Bible says without holding back.  For too long the church has tip toed around a SERIOUS issue that IS destroying lives and marriages…but speakers are afraid to tackle the subject for fear of offending someone. The church SHOULD be WAY more vocal about sex because…well…it was GOD who created sex! Seriously, it wasn’t like He caught Adam & Eve in the act!!! The problem with sex isn’t that it exists…but rather Satan has taken it and twisted God’s original purpose and design for it.

So get ready for a no holds barred message that will be relevant to everyone.  I’m going to speak for awhile to teenagers, for a little while to singles and finally to married couples.  Quite frankly if it’s not clear at the end what you’re next steps are in creating moral margin it means you fell asleep…and trust me that isn’t going to happen.

One final thing.  As I said on Sunday during the announcement time, this will be a PG-13 message, but parents I’d strongly encourage you bring your teens in with you and use this message as a springboard to discuss sex with them.  Again what they’ll hear from me is not the first time they will ever hear about sex.  So wouldn’t you much rather they hear about it from me and you than their  friends at school?  Wouldn’t you much rather let me be an influence on them than MTV?

As always invite your friends out with you…I mean even the most cynical person will probably show up when they know one of their favorite topics is going to be discussed.
