Not a lot of hot topics to talk about on this “Topical Tuesday” so I’ll talk about this weekend’s number 1 movie, “Lone Survivor“. It was by far one of the best movies that I’ve seen in awhile.
Based on the true story of a SEAL Teams failed mission, it wasn’t until the movie was over that I realized that it’s run time was more than 2 hours. Literally I was on the edge of me seat…this movie is intense and you feel like your right in the midst of what it’s like to be on a battlefield. Now I will warn you that there are some pretty gory scenes but honestly without them you wouldn’t be able to experience the realism of what is being depicted.
What stands out even more so than the blood and violence is the incredible heroism of the men and women in our armed forces. In our theater there was a mix of tears of sadness and tears of appreciation. There was applause at the end, yet everyone quietly and somberly filed out of the theater reflecting on all that we had seen.
I highly recommend that you see this movie…and I’m pretty sure it’s one that needs to be seen in the theater to be fully appreciated. One last thing, be sure to thank all of our service people both past and present for their dedication to our country. I know my appreciation for what they do to protect us just went up another couple of notches, I hope it does for you as well.
