Inside Today’s Experience

November 14, 2010 by Gilbert Leave a Comment

  • Seriously you shouldn’t be allowed to have this much fun!
  • Another awesome day ExponentialChurch.tv.
  • We may have talked about how to overcome financial debt today but to me the most important part of the morning is that 2 more people had their sin debt forgiven!
  • So awesome to hear as well how many people are loving this series.
  • In case you missed it, here the link to the message today where I encouraged everyone to “Act Your Wage“.
  • Sometimes I wonder if getting up early on Sunday mornings and helping to put out signs is worth it or not.  But today I was reminded that it is.
  • I had a gentleman introduce himself to be after this mornings Experience that is a Brigadier General.  He was on his way to get some coffee this morning, saw our signs and decided to come check us out.  The cool part is he wants our staff to come check out what they do sometime and while we’re there take us up for a helicopter ride…sweet!
  • Again our set-up today went smoothly and quickly…I hear other portable churches complain about how bad it is but either we have a much better team than most or more efficient systems…oh wait I think we actually have both!
  • With that said there isn’t a lot of behind the scenes  stuff to share today since nothing really jumps out as out of the ordinary.
  • The band as always did a great job.
  • I was able to sneak out for a bit to see our nursery, Pre-K and ECTV Kids ministries in action.
  • So glad we brought Chelsea in from Ohio to lead our kids.
  • Found out yesterday that one of the kids that’s been attending made a profession of faith this week and his dad is giving a ton of credit to the awesome children’s ministries that we have.
  • I had a ton of material to cover this morning but felt everyone was engaged and having some real “ah-ha” moments.
  • Now just praying that we’d all not just be hearers of the Word but doers as well.
  • Seriously I believe everyone can be 100% debt free within 10 years with a bit of discipline and hard work.
  • Again this isn’t about just having more money for the sake of having more. This is a heart issue…how you handle your money says a lot about your relationship with God…”Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”.
  • Can’t wait for next week when we learn why God says so many people’s money is cursed.
  • If you want to reverse the curse…be there!
  • If you want your family and friends to reverse the curse in their lives…invite them!
  • Have a great week…live with control!

Inside Today’s Experience

  • Our best day yet!
  • 5 more people prayed today to accept Jesus offer of forgiveness of sin and His leadership in their life and we had 1 child do the same thing in ECTV Kids!
  • 6 total now brings us to 29 in just 1 month since we launched the church!
  • Keep in mind the average church in America sees 1 conversion every 2 years.
  • So if you’ve been with us each week you’ve seen 58 years of ministry in just a 1 month period.
  • Only God can do something like that…I hope now of you are taking for granted the incredible opportunity that God is allowing you to be a part of.
  • For those of you who are reading this but haven’t yet come to check us out…what are you waiting for?  God is moving big time…don’t you want to be a part of something so big that only God can get the credit for it?
  • Alright now back to the beginning of the day…
  • That extra hour sleep certainly felt good!
  • I even allowed the team to come in 15 minutes later than normal since they’ve been doing such a great job with set-up.
  • Not only did they not miss that time…they actually still got done sooner than usual.
  • That was amazing because I had to run back home to get some stuff printed that our print shop accidentally did print for us.
  • The lesson…check to make sure it’s all there and right before I leave on Friday’s.
  • Had a really fun all team meeting at 9:15.  I was easily able to share how easy mentoring others can be.
  • One of our core values at ExponentialChurch.tv is that leadership development is not optional.  If we’re going to truly do all that God has called us to do then mentoring and training others will be critical.
  • Love the vibe in our lobby area before the Experience…there’s a real sense of anticipation that God is about to do something big.
  • Interesting start to the Experience with Gayle singing the Janis Joplin song Mercedes Benz.
  • Glad she sang it on key instead of the way Janis did. :)
  • After that the band had an incredible set…their best yet as well…loved the energy in the room!
  • They tore up Revelation Song…wow!!!!
  • Then I kicked off the Mind Your Own Business series with a message entitled, You Inc.
  • It’s a series about handling money God’s way.
  • Honestly it’s quite stupid to already be doing a finance series this early in a new church, but God made it clear to me that it was His desire so who am I to argue.
  • I’ve already gotten tons of feedback from both followers of Christ and those who are not that today’s message was what they needed to hear and that they can’t wait to hear and be a part of the rest.
  • Our only technical issue today was whatever is causing interference with my wireless mic.  This has happened each week and each week we’ve been trying different things to try to resolve it but so far nothing has worked.  ARRRGGGGHHH!  Next week we’ll try yet another possible solution.
  • We were 5 minutes late dismissing today but I love that even though I dismissed everyone, most still stuck around to sing along with the band as they did one final song.
  • Afterward we went to Duke’s for lunch…1/2 price on wings…I got Old Bay and Garlic…mmmm.
  • Extremely proud of today…people came to Jesus, we had our largest crowd…we have an awesome team and even more awesome God!
