Inside Today’s Experiences

  • Sitting in my office getting ready for our staff picnic.
  • Had a great day!
  • Couple of minor glitches in the set-up portion and the keyboard died in the 10:45 (RIP), but other than that we couldn’t have asked for a smoother day.
  • First, any day when people come into a relationship with Christ, it’s awesome…4 more today…God is so good!
  • I’m really loving the new song “Yours Forever” that the team has done the past few weeks…great stuff!
  • I also liked the new song today called “Ready Now”.  It was cool to intro it at the beginning of the Experience and then use it as a response song to the message.
  • I love doing vision messages.  Nothing gets me fired up more than reminding people why we’re doing what we’re doing.
  • The response so far to the message has been incredible…the real test will be in actually applying it…hope for a lot of new faces next week!
  • The bumper video that Aaron put together was awesome.  What’s funny though is it took he, Brian and I almost 2 hours to record the voice overs.  For some reason we couldn’t get the equipment to record it right…so we did it again…and again…and on a different machine…and again…and on a different machine…and…
  • It’s a shame some of them didn’t come out…Brian and I were having a lot of fun coming up with different things to say.
  • The two videos I used today I thought were powerful as well.  Here are the links.  Pauline Jacobi getting robbed.  Penn Gets a Bible.
  • I love that line…”How much do you have to hate someone to believe that there is a heaven and hell yet not tell someone how to escape it”. (paraphrase)
  • Again it amazes me that an atheist understands that better than many people in churches.
  • So one more time…Do whatever you can to invite people next week as we begin the REWIND series, by looking at the decade of the 70’s and specifically John Lennon’s, “Imagine”.
  • Also be sure to check out the new web-site and join the United Worship Experience fan page on facebook.

  • I did a magic show last night for the kids at church so all the tech stuff was still set-up this morning…so it was an easy morning.
  • Nothing out of the ordinary to report…not the best day but not the worst either.
  • The band had a lot of fun doing Fall Out Boys, “I Don’t Care”.
  • I loved being backstage during both Experiences and hearing the crowd singing “Desert Song”…so cool just to hear all those voices singing to God.
  • I’m hoping people are being inspired through this series to take God’s Word more seriously…I know I for one was changed by some of the research I came up with about the history of the Bible.
  • It was great having a bunch of teens on the stage at the end of each Experience to pray for them before their big work serving the community this week.
  • It was even better keeping the on the stage for the final song.
  • You could tell some of them were so excited to be on the stage with all the lights and everything.
  • We’ll have to figure out a way to get them back up again to help out some time.
  • Andy was picking on me about my shirt, saying it looked country, so he made me a huge belt buckle that he wanted me to wear during the second Experience…yeah right.
  • Don’t forget to read Psalm 119 this week…
  • …also don’t forget about the class I’m offering on July 25th from 9am-11am where I’ll teach you how to study the bible.
  • If you haven’t already signed up, e-mail me at gilbert@unitedworshipexperience.org.
  • Nap time now followed by dinner with friends!

  • Great to be back preaching again!
  • After 5 weeks off I had some butterflies this morning.
  • Thought there was a great energy today and that the team did an awesome job with the music.
  • Also, Brian and the stage team did an incredible job with the stage set…really love the huge TXT reflective panels.
  • Pretty good morning from a set-up standpoint so I was relaxed as we got started.
  • At the conclusion of the 9:15, I remembered I had forgotten part of the message…then I realized oops I forgot about 10 minutes worth.
  • Can you say rusty?
  • In any case, for you 9:15’ers I posted the 10:45 Experience so if you want to hear the entire message you can.
  • I’m super excited about this series…I love God’s Word and hope others will fall in live with it as well.
  • As a reminder…this week we’re all reading the book of James and answering two questions each day in our notebooks.
    • If I had to summarize the chapter I just read in a sentence or two, what would it be.
    • Question two is what is one thing I can do today as a result of what I just read.
    • After that we’ll all be posting online our answers.
    • You can come back to my blog tomorrow for mine and comment there or you can also find it on my Facebook profile.
  • Even though attendance was down, there was just somethingspecial about today and I think God is about to break loose big-time.
  • Time for a nap then off to freind’s house for dinner.
  • “See you” tomorrow online with your answers for James chapter 1.

  • Wrapped up the One Prayer series today with an awesome message from Perry Noble.
  • I really enjoyed this series again this year…not only does it give me a break but also getting to hear from so many great communicators is inspiring.
  • Set-up this morning was easy, but we were having power consumption issues throughout the building so lights were flickering that shouldn’t have.
  • I got the lift out and went up to reset some power buttons which helped a little.
  • Thought the band did a really great job today.
  • The 9:45 crowd was really into the message…
  • It’s amazing being able to sit out in the crowd and see and feel the difference between the two crowds.
  • At 9:45 I almost forgot to take the offering…ok I did forget but the ushers bailed me out.
  • As I said, after 5 weeks of not preaching, I’m a bit rusty even to do something as simple as doing announcements.
  • Loved Perry’s challenge to “run up the score”.
  • Basically we’re trying to “win” forgetting that Jesus has already won for us…the game is out of reach…now run up the score.
  • Met some great folks from other churches in our denomination…great to have them with us.
  • Disappointed that attendance is down for the summer but even with the “summer slump” we just completed our highest attended quarter ever!
  • Next week we begin a new series called “TXT” in which I’ll be sharing how to be transformed by God’s Word.
  • Also got some cool announcements coming up in the coming weeks…stay tuned…the best is yet to come!

  • Great to be back after two weeks away.
  • Nice to be able to ease back into things thanks to our One Prayer series.
  • It’s amazing that modern technology allows us to participate with thousands of other churches in a joint series.
  • Great to hear everyone laughing and participating as Steven Furtick preached the message.
  • Everything ran pretty smoothly today which is also a nice way to get back into things.
  • 9:15 was pretty full, while 10:45 was down again…I hate summer.
  • Thought the band did a great job today.
  • Loved Furtick’s message…it really gave good perspective on how big God is and how small our problems are.
  • Again I really enjoy this series…hope you are as much as I am.
  • To all the dad’s out there…Happy Father’s Day!
